How to use the Dock Productively

So, I assume that you have been using Dock for a long time, and could not leverage more power with that. Do you know that you can achieve more by not using your dock for everything and depend on Spotlight or Launchpad. You can use the dock productively by following these steps.

If you have a dozen of icons in launchpad like the following image, you are definitely misusing Dock. So to get rid of all those icons, just drag and drop everything off. Your dock will be left with Finder & Trash on the other side. This might look odd, but useful if you get accustomed to it.

Here is a little surprise.

You know there are some function keys in your Mac's keyboard. Make use of them.
Just press F4  in your keyboard and you will see the Launchpad being open in a moment from any screen you are on. Try it out.

Lets find some other way for opening the Launchpad. Do you know that your trackpad is a multi-touch one. If that is a multi-touch trackpad, you gotta love this trick. Pinching to the center with thumb and three fingers and boom. But you have to configure that in the "System Preferences". You can Find the setting in Trackpad. Tick the small box, so that you can launch with a pinch.
